Matthew Tully...

In class today we read a story about a boy named Brent. Written by Matthew Tully. It was about a boy who had a hard childhood. His mom was addicted to drugs and sometimes didn't come home to Brent (6 months old) and his older sister (3 years old.) Brents father was not in the picture. The mom left Brent with her friend so whe could take care of Brent while his mom was trying to get better. She took his sister with her to Flordia, then South Carolina. For 18 years, Brent didnt see him mom. His teachers said he was hard working and intelligant, and seemed to be the leader in class groups. One day Brent wanted to buy a drink at a store, but he had to be 18 to buy it. She clerk asked for some identification; but Brent didnt have any. The clerk didnt take his word. Brent couldn't have a driver's license or go to college or have social secreity because he had no sign  of a birth certificate. He tried looking for his mom nand couldnt find her because she had mulitple last names. Then he found her on facebook. They talked on the phone and planned to meet for the first time in 18 years. Brent met with his real mom and his biological mom. They had a good time and took pictures.           Reading this story made me think of all the other people who go through this problem. It was really good.

halloween weekend

I got out of school on wednesday, and loved knowing that i didnt have to go to school the next four days. i loved carving pumpkins with my family. I go in the pantry do get a can of soup and i open it and I see mold in it! i think my little sister went to open it, so she opened the tab alittle then decided she didnt want it, then put it back. It was so gross. Then Everett Sanders came over and we went walking during halloween and passed out candy with my dad. Then Everett, my sister, my mom and I went to a house that is known for carving amazing pumkins and also known as growing the higgest pumpkins in Indiana. It was crazy.

Summer gym seems like a pretty good way to waste a summer. In fact, it was the total opposite. Yes, you'd have to wake up early five times a week and do nothing but sport activites and games for six weeks but its defitaly worth it. You get to meet new people that will be in your grade. It's a good way to reconec with your friends that  you didn't really talk to. " I broke my finger, dyed my hair orange, and I got a concussion!" Victoria Brazzale said. It was a good time laughing with my old friend from middle school. And also making new friends.

journalism class...

So, I'm sitting in journalism class, and the teacher tells us to get a partner and do an assinment by looking through the 2009-2010 yearbook. Alexus Flucker and I go through it and read some interesting articles about some people. I liked the one about the girl who has never missed a day of school for 12 years! i thought it was pretty interesting.
